Notification of intended entry to the APY Lands pursuant to the APY (Entry to the Lands)

APY Permit Requirements and Information


Every entrant onto the APY lands, is required to adhere to the following requirements of entry:

  • APY Permit application form or notification if applicable.

  • National Police Check or Working with Children Check. 

How Long will it take to process my permit? 

APY Permits will assess applications with all the relevant required documentation within 10 to 14 days. Please remember that APY is a small team with a large area of land to supervise. Be Patient. 

 


Procedure for the notification of intended entry to the APY Lands

The purpose of this document is to define the procedure relating to the notification of entry to the APY Lands under the APY (Entry to the Lands) Bu-law of the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Land Rights Act 1981

Clause 7

A person granted permission to enter the lands under the is by-law who proposes to enter the lands must give reasonable notice of the time, place and purpose of the proposed entry to Anangu.

Procedure

  • All persons intending to enter the APY Lands under permission granted through this by-law must complete the attached notification form.

  • A separate notification form shall be prepared for each individual

  • The notification form shall identify the person, the organisation or department that they are employed by, the purpose for the entry, the locations/communities that will be visited together with the expected arrival and departure dates for each location/community

  • The notification form should be forwarded to APY Permits Officer not less that two weeks prior to the intended entry date. Forms to be forwarded by email to permits@anangu.com.au

  • The APY permits officer shall record the information received and advise the respective communities as appropriate
